I read the article " The publication of Your Personal Profile" at page 33.
The writer claims that as more and more people began to post their pictures and write their private information at MySpace and Facebook, due to the network's unsafety and people's less awareness about the personal information's security, private is not private anymore.
Firstly, the author says that the users are lack of the awareness of security on internet. That is, the users don not realize that others can get their information through these social networks purposely. The writer uses a real example to support it. Second, the network is unsafe. If people want to see someone's profile, they can access it with a little work. The author also uses a real example to demonstrate it. Third, the author says that users are not awre of the fact that what they put on their profiles is a representation of the themselvs nd they are responsible for them. The writer use some citations to explain it. Finally, the writer focuses on "the picture and information that people are posting on their MySpaces and Facebooks, however personal, are subject to scrutiny whether they realize it or not. the author uses a lot ot real examples to support it. The employers may see employees' facebook to check whether the employees will damage the companies' reputation through checking their profiles in their facebook. Because of illegal pictures post on the facebook, some RA in UD were forced to resign. The Miss New Jersey was nearly forced out of her position because her questionable pictures on facebook.
The essay is persuasive. The author says an argument and uses some specific examples to support it. So it 's great.

Blog Assignment #6
In the third line of the second paragrah in " A Way With Words, of Away With Words: Effect of Texting and Iming on Language" written by Timothy Barranco, the writer says that "On the other hand, some believe that txt is not a language in and of itself but merely a degradation of proper English, more or less an excuse for improper grammar, lack of punctuation, poor vocabulary, and incorrect spelling", which can be regareded as paraphrase. By using paraphrase, the writer clearly shows that someone's opinions about the txt, which forms a contrast with the following sentence that "there is plenty of evidence that supports that we need not worry about txt ruining the minds of teenagers and corrupting our native tongue. This paraphrase also let readers know the issues about the txt language, which is the main ideas of this essay.
In the seventh paragraph, the writer says that "Director of freshman composition at the University of Southern Alabama, Larry Beason, agrreed, saying, 'most students realize that they need to put their adolescent spellings behind them by the time they get to college'(Carey). " This is a example of quotation. This quotation sentence shows that txt usage by young guys are not permanent and will be gave up in the writing as they grow up, which supports the conclusion of this paragraph. This sentence also indicates that the txt language will not bring the bad influence for the youth' writing ability, which is a conclusion of the whole essay.

Blog assignment #5
Just as everyone wants to say the thing which is advantageous to him/her, both the winners and the losers will tell the parts of history which are favorable to them.
At the world second war, China won Japan. In Chinese history book, the writer says that due to the right concept of operations and unit of Chinese , we defeated Japanese' invading. But in Japanese history book, the writer says that Japanese went to China in order to help Chinese with the economics , medical treatments and other useful things. Although there is no doubt that Japanese did a lot of unforgiven crimes for Chinese, Japanese historians don't want their descendants to know that demeaning facts but they want Japanese consider their predecessors were nice and friendly. So everyone wants to set up a brilliant image for others, and the both the losers and winners would like to say the history which is good for them, and concealed the negative things they had made.
I think people should use a dialectic view to see the history. People should listen to the sounds from both losers and winners, and get the relatively facts. Historians and governments should tell the truths to the masses, because history can never be concealed or falsified, and people should undertake the responsiblity for the things they have done, and the masses have the right to know the truthes about the history.

Part 1:
I think there is a big culture difference between China and America. People from the two countries have different languages, different backgrounds, so people use different ways to think and do things. Also, it is hard for Chinese people to get into American people's life. So I think Liu wants to be with other Chinese. I have the same similar experience. As the barrier of language, even I want to make friends with American people, I sometimes can't understand their talkings and can't say clearly what I am thinking about. Morever, I really don't know what American people 's attutides are about some things. When I am in trouble, I ask for help from both Chinese and Americans. I think Americans are very friendly and they are willing to help others without worrying themselves, so I do love Americans. I think Chinese have the same culture backgrounds and the same habits, so we know what others think about, and we use the same ways to think and do things. Also, we use the same language, so there is no language barrier between, and we can conmunicate freely with each other even with a stranger. What' more,we are both Chinese, so we should help each other in the other country.
Part 2:
1.humble: adj. believing that you are not anybetter or more important than other people.
2.delegation: n. the giving to someone of part or all of your power, rights, or duties.
3. saturate: v. to make something extremely wet.

Blog Assignment #3
In China, more and more people tend to use body languages to communicate with others. For example, when we want to say " well down! You are the best!",we will use " thumb up"; when we want to express our positive sence, we may use a victory gesture. I think there are few differences between U.S.A and China in the using of gesture.Unlike the gestures, I can see some definate differences in the eye contact and the body space between the two countries. In China, people avoid to make the eye contacts when they are walking in the street, because people are shy about that, but the U.S.A, people even will say hi to each other when their eyes meet. Also, men and women always keep a proper distance when they talk, but in the U.S.A, the distance seems a little shorter than that in China.
I think people in the U.S.A are more open and outgoing ,and the culture are more advanced which allow people to freely contact with each other by using some close and exaggerated action, but in China, people and culture are more conservative, so people are usually implicit to do everything .
Anyway, all the people in the two countries like to express their thoughts through using the body languages, because using the nonverbal communication in a right way can make people more charismatic and make the atmosphere more easy and happy between people in both countries.

Option 2.
In China, most people were taught that they should restrain their emotion since they were children, because it is impolite to show their own sorrows or joys in the public. They also consider that their true feelings are private, so they don't want others to know that. Even if people change their emotions quilckly and easily, most people will not show the changes in the public, especially the negative emotions. People who have a quiet and calm image are always considered that they treat everything light so they have a dim and mild attitude toward life, and such kind of people can receive a lot of repect among the public in China, so you can see that alomost every top leader in China only has one unchanged face everyday. Most people will choose kiss at a private place because they think it's a private thing and it is rude and impolite to do in the pulic, but hold hands or hug in the public are the ways that people show their ceremonies, so when people greet others, they always hold hands and hug with each other.
In conclusion, most people tend to hide thier emotions in the public in China , because they consider that it 's polite and cultivated, on the other hand, it's rude and impolite to show their emtions especially the negative emotions among people.

Answers to the Q of the "Mother Tongue"
There is no doubt that different generation has different ways of speaking, because different generation receives different education. For example, we usually use English language such as "hello " or "hi" when we greet others as English has became more and more universal in Chinese school now,but to our parents, the most familiar way to greet friends is using Chinese words.
In less formal situation, such as when we talk to our friends,we usually use "cause" in stead of "because". Sometimes, I may use the initial letter of the first name of my friend to call him/her, for example, I may call my friend Emily "E". When we response the sentences " thank you very much", we should say "you are welcome" in formal situation ,while saying "no problem" in less formal condition.
